1st item: American Classical tilt top table, mahogany, with plain rectangular top (sewing bird scars underneath) over a tapering round pedestal, terminating in a shaped square base atop four acorn style feet, 30″ H x 24″W x 20″ D. Circa 1840. 2nd item: American Classical mahogany pier table with serpentine marble top, rounded scalloped corners over a conforming frieze, double s-curve base atop a quadruped base with ripple molding and splayed, curved-bracket feet. 29″ H x 34″ W x 18″ D. Third quarter of the 19th century. Provenance: the estate of Sarah Hunter Hicks Green, formerly of Historic Devon Farm, Nashville, Tennessee. CONDITION: Both tables in old dark surfaces. 1st item: Separation crack to top, 2″ repair/patch to side of base. 2nd item: One foot beginning to separate from base, tin bracing underside, scattered tiny chips to marble edge and minor abrasions to frieze, base and feet.
