After John James Audubon (Haiti/New York, 1785-1851) chromolithograph depicting two mature house wrens, one of whom feeds an insect to one of the three young wrens who nest inside an old hat that hangs on a mossy branch, 1860. Marginal text reads "No. 14-8." and Plate 120.," upper margin, and "Chromolithy by J. Bien, New York, 1860," lower right. Housed under glass in a giltwood frame with brown fabric mat and gilt fillet. Sight: 24" H x 18 1/4" W.
PROVENANCE: Private Middle Tennessee Collection.
CONDITION: Sheet has been cut down to remove left half. With foxing and scattered, minor creases throughout. Not examined outside of frame.
