Six bound folio volumes of Harper's Weekly, Journal of Civilization spanning the years of the Civil War and its aftermath; with articles, reports and editorials on the war accompanied by numerous engravings and drawings by notable illustrators such as Winslow Homer, Thomas Nast and Granville Perkins. Included are: Vol. V, January 5 – December 28, 1861; Vol. VI, January 4 – December 27, 1862; Vol. VII, January 3 – December 26, 1863; Vol. VIII, January 2 – December 31, 1864; Vol. IX, January 7 – December 30, 1865; Vol. X, January 6 – December 29, 1866. Covered in period 1/4 leather black boards with brown leather corners and spine, which is gilt stamped with raised banding. Each 16" H x 11 3/4" W.
PROVENANCE: Elizabeth Ozment for the estate of Elliott Ozment, Nashville, Tennessee. Ozment was a leading Civil Rights and Immigration attorney in Nashville and former State Legislator.
CONDITION: All volumes complete and intact, with expected loose bindings, corner rubs to boards and spine chips.
