Two (2) Suzy Suzac (France, 1936-2013) oil on canvas abstract paintings. 1st item: Abstract painting with a white background divided by a vertical red striation intersected by horizontal yellow striation, with the left half of the work filled with large dark brushstrokes. Signed "Suzac 71" lower right. Unframed. 29 1/2" H x 36" W. 2nd item: Abstract painting with a white background divided by a yellow vertical striation with each half containing serpentine figures and indiscernible forms rendered with large, loose brushstrokes. Signed "Suzac 71" lower right. Unframed. 39 1/2" H x 31 7/8" W.
PROVENANCE: The estate of Dr. Thomas Bechtel, Memphis, TN.
CONDITION: Both items in overall good condition with light grime. 2nd item has one abrasion in large area of blue paint, approximately 11", may have been intentional by the artist's hand.
