Ed Clark (American, 1912-2000) silver gelatin print of Minnie Pearl at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, titled "Opry, 1946" lower left margin and signed in ink in the lower right margin. In black frame. 7 1/2" x 8 1/2". Ed Clark was born in Nashville and dropped out of school to join the Nashville Tennessean as a staff photographer. In 1936 he became a stringer for Life Magazine and eventually joined the staff. Clark's pictures of Alvin York, presidents and celebrities made him one of the best known photojournalists of the 20th century. Provenance: Estate of A. Welling LaGrone Jr., Nashville, Tenn. Condition: Excellent condition.
