Walt Disney signed animation cel, used in the original 1950 movie Cinderella. The hand painted celluloid illustration depicts Cinderella's mice and bird friends hurrying down the attic steps as they gather needles and thread to sew a ball gown for her. Signed with personal inscription on the lower right mat, "To Denis Sarrat with Best Wishes, Walt Disney." Original Disney label stating this painting on celluloid was actually used in the production of the 1950 movie, en verso of backing. Housed and matted with pale blue mat under glass in a matte silver metal frame. Sight: 8 1/8" H x 10" W. Frame: 16" H x 18" W. Note: This item was a gift to the consignor as a young girl from her aunt and uncle, who were personal friends of Walt Disney.
PROVENANCE: The collection of Denis Sarrat Brock, Nashville, Tennessee.
CONDITION: Very good condition. Label has been mounted on a later backing; attached scan shows original backing.
