8 pieces of British silver flatware, including Hester Bateman and family. 1st item: Irish sterling stuffing spoon, fiddle handle with bird crest, marks for John Power, Dublin, 1805. 13 1/8" L. 2nd item: George III sterling marrow spoon with scoop end, marks for George Smith IV, London, 1772. 8 1/2" L. 3rd-4th items: Pair of Scottish sterling serving or stuffing spoons with oval handles, each monogrammed WL, hallmarked on reverse "P C & Co" – likely Paul Cunningham and Co., with marks for Edinburgh, 1806. 13 1/8" L. 5th item: Salt spoon with bright cut engraved handle, marks for Hester Bateman, 1786, 3 3/4" L. 6th-7th items: Pair Peter and Ann Bateman salt or condiment spoons, oval handles monogrammed E R, hallmarked on reverse for London, 1799. 4"L. 8th item: Sterling silver dessert spoon with oval handle and engraved griffin crest, marks for Robert Gray, Edinburgh, 1796. 7" L. Combined weight all items: 14.52 oz troy. Provenance: The estate of Dr. Benjamin H. Caldwell, Nashville, TN. CONDITION: All items very good condition. Condiment spoons have a couple of very small dents to bowls.
