Card Sight: 9 1/8 in. x 6 1/2 in. Frame: 17 1/2 in. H x 13 1/2 in. W. 2nd item: Stevengraph woven silk bookmark commemorating the signing of the Declaration of Independence matted and framed under glass in an oak frame. Bookmark: 7 in. L x 2 1/4 in. H. Frame: 14 in. W x 8 1/4 in H. Late 19th century.
PROVENANCE: The Collection of Deborah and Kent Vauclain Bissell, Sr., by descent from his grandfather, Austin Flint Morris, a member of the Society of the Cincinnati, or his great-uncle, William Cullen Morris (1874-1975) of New York. Morris was a Vice President of Con Edison and engineer instrumental in the construction of the Astoria Tunnel.
CONDITION: 1st item: Light handling grime and taped repair to 3/4 in tear on card, light discoloration and fraying at fringes on ribbons. 2nd item: Light fading, overall very good condition.
