President Andrew Jackson (1767-1845), 7th president of the United States from 1829 to 1837, signed land grant document for Joseph Egg of Washington County, Mississippi, granting 79 and 56/100th acres of land in “the West half of the North West quarter of Section Six, in Township fifteen, of Range eight West, in the District of Lands subject to sale at Mount Salus, Mississippi,” certificate no. 5964. Dated February 1,1832 and signed “Andrew Jackson” lower right; countersigned by the Commissioner of the General Land Office, Elijah Hayward, lower center; sealed lower left. Matted under glass in a faux wood-grain frame. Sight: 9 in. H x 15 in. W. Frame: 15 in. H x 20 in. W.
CONDITION: Overall very good condition, with toning particularly down the center fold line. Ripples on paper around the seal, and extending beneath the mat especially at top left. Not examined out of frame.
