Kurt Larisch (Austria/Mexico, 1913-2009) acrylic on canvas abstract geometric painting comprised of three vertical rectangular forms in shades of purple, red, and blue, each appearing to cast gradient shadows onto a neutral background. Signed and dated "Kurt Larisch 74" lower right corner. Housed in an unfinished wooden frame. Sight: 41 1/4" H x 51 1/4" W. Framed: 42" H x 62" W. Note: Austrian born artist Kurt Larisch worked as a graphic artist and animator in Europe before moving to Mexico in 1970 and becoming one of that country's most celebrated contemporary artists. His geometric, often surrealist abstract paintings have been described as Kafkaesque, showing the influence of Escher, Mondrian and Magritte.
CONDITION: Some light grime to the canvas. Otherwise in very good condition. Painting is loose in frame.
