Two (2) Thomas L. McKenney (American, 1785-1859) & James Hall (American, 1793-1868) hand-colored lithographs from History of the Indian Tribes of North America, after Charles Bird King (D.C./Rhode Island, 1785-1862), printed by John T. Bowen and published by Frederick W. Greenough, Philadelphia, 1836-44. 1st item: "Chono Ca Pe, An Ottoe Chief," bust-length portrait of Chono Ca Pe with claw necklace, medallion, and feathered headdress. 2nd item: "Mo-Hon-Go" (Osage woman), half-length portrait of an Osage woman holding a small child. Both housed under glass in red wooden frames. Both sights: 19 1/2" H x 13" W. Both frames: 23 1/2" H x 17" W.
CONDITION: 1st item with foxing, especially around face, and liquid stain to lower right quadrant. 2nd item with minor staining to upper right quadrant, largest area 1/2" x 1/2". Frames with wear and abrasions, largest to 2nd item, 4 1/12" L, upper left.
