First edition, 303pp first issue, has 16-page publisher's catalogue at end dated 1897 and beginning with "New Letters of Napoleon I". 7 3/4" H x 5 1/2" W x 1 1/2" D. Provenance: a Brentwood, TN estate. CONDITION: Overall used condition with general wear to be expected from age. No dustcover present. Toning to pages. Minute foxing spots, end papers and inside of covers. Ex libris label and pencil inscriptions, inside of front cover and front end paper. Pages separated from spine. Rubbing, shelf wear to cover corners and spine. Toning, 1 1/2" x 2 1/2" area of stains, surface of covers.
