Assembled group of Native American baskets including one (1) oval coiled basket with vertical zigzag decoration and natural and dyed sumac weavers, possibly Panamint, one (1) round coiled bowl basket with devil's claw geometric design, possibly Pima, two (2) Northwest Coast small lidded baskets including one oval form and one small cylindrical form with an attached metal chain through the center and faint geometric designs to the lid, and one (1) contemporary natural rivercane cylindrical form lidded basket, likely Southeastern United States. Ranging in size from 1 1/4" H x 1 3/4" dia. to 4 1/4" H x 7" W. 1st four baskets 1st half 20th century, 5th basket later 20th century.
PROVENANCE: The estate of Ann H. Wells, Nashville, Tennessee.
CONDITION: Oval basket in very good condition with minor losses to weavers of rim. Round basket overall good condition with some losses to rim weavers and inconsistancy in weaving. 3rd basket in very good condition with minor grime and light staining. 4th basket overall good condition with wear and fading. 5th basket in very good condition.
