Signed Indiana river trade cherry bonnet chest with poplar secondary wood. Two small central drawers flanked by two deep drawers over three graduated and cockbeaded drawers, all with oval eagle brasses and flanked by reeded turned pilasters, supported by turned feet. The piece is signed on the backboard "S. Kilgore West Cairo, Indiana." 46 1/4" H x 42 1/2" W x 21 1/4" D. Second quarter of 19th century. Condition: Overall good condition, refinished with replaced brasses, some scratches/gouges to top.
