East Tennessee walnut sugar chest, possibly McMinn Co., TN. Post and panel case on stand with two false drawer fronts, lower dovetailed drawer, resting on turned tapered feet. Ogee molding around false drawer fronts, panel sides, and one drawer base stand. 38 3/4" H x 32 1/2" W x 18 1/2" D. Circa 1850. Provenance – Estate of Bill Selden, Athens, Tennessee. Condition: Older refinish. False drawer fronts have been converted to drawers with supports in the early 20th century. Top has had hinges removed and nailed down.
