1st item: Small French Louis XVI style oval table with inlaid white marble top having a gilt bronze gallery above a conforming frieze with single parquetry inlaid dovetailed drawer, resting on tall tapering legs with gilt bronze caps and a kidney shaped parquetry inlaid undertier, also with gilt bronze gallery. Feet with gilt bronze mounts. 30" H x 18 1/2" W x 13 1/4" D. 2nd item: Bronze mounted marble-topped French Louis XV commode, shaped convex form with projecting corners and a rouge/brown conforming marble top over two cross banded dovetailed drawers with floral marquetry and slightly flaring French legs terminating in bronze mounted feet. 32 1/2" H x 29 1/2" W x 15 5/8" D. Both early 20th century.
PROVENANCE: The Estate of Margaret Harold Roberts, Lookout Mountain, Georgia.
CONDITION: 1st item: Some staining to top and minor bending to bronze metal gallery. Otherwise overall good condition with light scattered and expected wear. 2nd item: Overall good condition. Minor wear and losses to marble top. Losses to front leg edges. Interior of drawers with staining.
