William IV sterling silver urn or cup and cover by Joseph and John Angell, the cover with figural finial of Poseidon holding a trident and riding a dolphin on a domed, wave-chased base; campana form urn with rope twist side handles and a circular footed base with spiral repousse leaf and flower decoration. Hallmarks for Joseph and John Angell, London, sterling, and date letter for 1834 to the underside of the cover and to one side of the cup. 13 3/4" H. 35.425 total troy ounces.
PROVENANCE: Private Cincinnati, Ohio estate.
CONDITION: Poseidon trident slightly bent, otherwise very good condition.
