8 coin silver spoons marked for Samuel Wheritt or Wherritt (working Richmond, Kentucky by 1824, died 1877). Includes 2 dessert spoons with plain fiddle handles marked S. WHERITT in rectangles beside serrated rectangles containing another, obscured mark, plus 6 teaspoons with plain fiddle handles marked S. WHERITT in rectangles alongside eagle pseudohallmarks. CONDITION: Teaspoons – very good condition with some wear to monograms and marks. One dessert spoon with wear to end of bowl and small (1/4") tear to side of bowl. Both dessert spoons repaired, one at stem, one or both at stem and bowl, and both with significant wear to marks. Monograms.
