66 pieces French Puiforcat Royal pattern sterling silver flatware, including 6 dinner knives (9 7/8″ L), 6 dinner forks (8″ L), 6 salad forks (6 7/8″ L), 12 fish forks (7 3/8″ L), 6 teaspoons (5 7/8″ L), 8 dessert/oval soup spoons, 6 tablespoons, 1 jam/caviar/bouillon spoon, 6 fish knives, 6 dessert knives, and 3 flat butter spreaders. Not monogrammed. 120.88 weighable oz troy. Provenance: a Middle Tennessee estate, by descent from Thomas G.B. Wheelock. Note: Thomas G.B. Wheelock was known as an astute collector of African Art and co-author of the book “Land of the Flying Masks: Art & Culture in Burkina Faso”. He also inherited a sizeable collection of Asian, British, and military related antiques from his grandparents, Gilded Age tycoon George Briggs Buchanan of New York, and William and Margaret Wheelock, who owned a Scottish manor home known as Bunker Hill.
