Two watercolor paintings by Carl Sublett (Tennessee, 1919-2008). 1st item: "Kite Theme", images of fish in watercolor with linear impressions, signed and dated "'78" lower right. Paper: 11" H x 13-1/2" W, Frame: 18-3/4"H x 21" W. 2nd item: Coastal view, signed and dated "'68" lower right. Sight: 16-1/2" H x 22" W, Frame: 23-7/8" H x 29" W. Carl Sublett studied Art History at the American Academy in Florence, Italy after World War II, and became Professor of Fine Art at the University of Tennessee. Sublett was a member of the National Academy of Design. His works are in the collections of the National Academy of Design, The Tennessee State Museum, and Cheekwood Museum of Art, Nashville. Provenance: the estate of Helen B. Patterson, Gallatin, Tennessee. Condition: Both in very good condition. Slight wear to frames.
