Louis XV style ormolu-mounted marquetry tall case clock, after Jean-Henri Riesener, made by Franz Hermle & Son. Comprised of mahogany and other mixed woods, three ormolu cherubs in clouds hanging garland around the engraved gilt dial with black Roman numerals on white enamel plaques, tapering case with gilt mounts throughout including a sun or Apollo mask, wreaths, garlands, urns with flowers and paw feet, gilt sun or Apollo mask pendulum, all resting on a shaped plinth base having gilt mounts and tapering gilt feet. Works marked "FHS, Germany, 351-050H", 351-050H indicating a Westminster Chime unit with eight chime hammers. 85" H x 19" W x 12 1/2" D. 20th century.
