Cornelius Haly Hankins (Mississippi/Tennessee, 1863-1946) oil on board summer landscape depicting a field with haystacks. Signed lower right "Cornelius Hankins". Molded gilt wood frame. Sight – 6 1/2" H x 9 7/8" W. Framed – 10 5/8" H x 14 1/8" W. Note: Hankins studied with Robert Henri, leader of the Ashcan School, and with William Merritt Chase in New York. He was active for much of his career in the Nashville area. CONDITION: Overall very good condition with minor surface grime.
