Mengel was colonel of the 1st Kentucky Infantry Regiment. 2nd item: Rectangular medallion commemorating the Massachusetts Bay Colony Tercentenary, 1630-1930, 2-1/4" x 3-1/4", housed in its original blue velvet lined case. 3rd item: Major General Alexander Macomb medal, bronzed copper, bust of Macomb facing right.
