Federal mahogany demilune card table with mixed secondary woods. Rectangular hinged top with cut corners and inlaid at the edge, central shell flanked by shaped string inlay on the skirt, diamond and tombstone line inlay on the stiles, and line and banded inlay on the tall tapering legs. 28 3/4" H x 36 1/2" W x 35 5/8" D. Early 19th century.
PROVENANCE: Private Middle Tennessee collection.
CONDITION: Overall general use wear, older refinish. Top leaf with sun fading, scattered wood shrinkage, poor repairs to inlay of one leg stile (this leg is loose, suggesting a replaced facing to cover an old repair to the leg), scattered wear to table edges. One rear leg slightly bowed.
