Two Civil War Model 1860 swords with scabbards. 1st item – U.S. Civil War Model 1860 sword, blade stamped "C. Roby, Chelmsford, Mass" and dated 1864 with inspector's stamp "AGM" verso. 41" total length, 42 1/2" length w/ metal scabbard. 2nd item – U.S. Civil War Model 1860 sword, blade stamped "Mansfield & Lamb Forestdale R.I.", and "U.S. C.E.W. 1864" verso. 42 1/2" length w/ metal scabbard. Both circa 1864. Condition: 1st item – wire and leather wrap on grip missing, expected oxidation/patination to blade and wear/oxidation to scabbard. 2nd item – cracking and wear to leather grip, wire around grip missing, light oxidation/patination to blade, light oxidation and minor pitting to scabbard.
