Attr. Hugh Henry Armstead (British, 1828-1905), oil on canvas portrait of a horse in its stable. Signed "HH Armstead" lower left. Canvas – 20" H x 14" W. Included with this lot is an ill-fitting giltwood frame, not pictured – 26" H x 21" W. CONDITION: Yellowed varnish and overall craquelure. Abrasions to perimeter of painting; painting has come detached from frame. Small loss to canvas at upper right corner on top of stretcher; 1/2" tear to lower edge of canvas. 1/16" hole to canvas on horse's body. Scattered small abrasions under 1/16".
