Percussion Rifle by H. Pratt, .58 caliber, octagonal barrel with brass front and steel notched rear sights. Barrel marked in script, "H. Pratt" (Henry Pratt of Roxbury and Boston, Massachusetts 1790-1880, working 1832-1880). Foliate engraved lockplate marked, "R Ashmore Warranted". Brass fittings and patchbox, with patchbox cover stamped with the number "18". Incised initials, 'E. T." and incised checkered wrist. Full length hardwood stock, walnut with small cheekrest. Ramrod holder with brass bands. 36 1/4" barrel length. 2nd quarter of 19th century. Condition: Overall very good condition. Barrel and brass hardware with appropriate patination for age. Lockplate with a couple of cracks, small wood fill at edge of lockplate.
