Daniel Lai (Malaysia/Tennessee, 20th century) clay, wood, paint, and latex sculpture titled "Endless Quest", depicting white painted clay figures amongst precariously stacked wooden blocks, with one figure depicted upside down on the base. Comprised of two sections, signed and dated on the smaller section base corner "Daniel Lai "06". 18" H x 12" W x 10" D. Biography: Self taught artist Daniel Lai, of Chinese descent, was born and raised in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. He moved to the United States in 2000. He was granted US citizenship through extraordinary ability in field of fine art and arts management in 2014. He has a BA in Linguistics (2003), an MA in Art Studies/Art History (2006) from Montclair State University, and a Ph.D. in sociology/criminology (2015) from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. CONDITION: Overall very good condition. A couple of blocks are loose and this appears to be in the making. Retains the original COA from the artist's gallery.
