2 California Native American Baskets & Woven Covered Bottle. 1st item: California Native American coiled basket with geometric wave design. 3 3/4" H x 7" dia. 2nd item: California Native American coiled basket, light brown in color with geometric woven design throughout. 2 3/4" H x 6 3/4" diameter. 3rd item: Native American, possibly Hupa, basket weave over glass bottle, finely woven geometric patterns with varying shades of brown. Slight wear to weavers on bottle rim. 9" H. All 20th century. Provenance: Property from the estate of Dorothy Louise Luhrs, PhD, (1910-1972), Archaeologist with University of New Mexico/School of American Research Field School, whose studies and research included the Una Via Chaco Canyon, NM, Largo Canyon, NM, Guatemala, Mexico, and the Hoopa Indian Reservation in northern California. Luhrs was also president of the Southwestern Anthropological Association from 1950-51. Condition: All items overall very good condition unless otherwise noted in description.
