Three (3) George III sterling silver mugs, including two (2) of very similar baluster form on spreading feet with leaf capped double C-scroll handles, one hallmarked for Thomas Wallis or Thomas Wynne, London, 1775, the other for George Smith and Thomas Hayter, London, 1792 (each 5 1/8" H); together with one (1) earlier mug of tapering cylindrical form, with incised banding, leaf capped double C-scroll handle, and elaborate script monogram, hallmarked for Thomas Whipham and Charles Wright, London,1762 (4 3/4" H). All retain original sales tags from David Orgell Antique Silver of California, available to the winning bidder. Combined weight: 33.74 oz troy.
PROVENANCE: Private Nashville collection, purchased from David Orgell Antique Silver, Beverly Hills, California.
CONDITION: Maker's mark rubbed on the Smith & Hayter mug. Each mug is engraved on exterior of side with a small 20th century number (302, 303, or 308). Wallis or Wynne mug has a repair at lower handle terminus and a 1" dent to foot ring but sits flat, otherwise all items in very good condition with a few minor scratches and tiny dents consistent with age.
