James B. Richardson (active Washington, DC, early to mid 20th century) oil on canvas portrait depicting a brunette woman with brown eyes, possibly the artist's wife, wearing a lavender dress and seated in a wooden chair while peeling green apples from a bowl held in her lap, against an earthy green background. Signed "Richadson (sic)" lower left. Housed in a wooden frame with green-painted accents and cream colored sight edge. Sight: 24 1/2" H x 19 3/4" W. Framed: 27 3/4" H x 22 3/4" W. Note: James B. Richardson exhibited with the Society of Washington Artists, with the Washington Landscape Club, and in the Greater Washington Independent Exhibit of 1935. PROVENANCE: Private collection, acquired in Washington DC in the late 1980s along with other James B. Richardson signed works.
CONDITION: Overall very good condition. Frame with slight wear to corners.
