Creason Clayton (Tennessee/Kentucky, 1927-2006) large acrylic on paper cityscape painting depicting several of downtown Nashville's most iconic skyscrapers rising above a bustling central roadway, all rendered with thick, impressionist brushstrokes in bright shades of purple, green, orange and gold. Signed lower center/right and dated 1996. Float mounted under non-glare glass on an ivory mat with gilt fillet and a giltwood and ebonized frame. Sheet – 29" H x 22" W. Frame – 41 1/4" H x 35" W.
PROVENANCE: Private Nashville Collection.
CONDITION: Painting in excellent condition, not examined out of frame. Mat has a few tiny dark spots lower right corner that appear to be under the glass.
