Three (3) Jefferson Davis items, including Confederate Electoral Ticket. 1st item: Jefferson Davis Confederate Electoral Ticket from the State of Virginia, Wednesday, November 6th, 1861. Includes Alexander H. Stephens, of Georgia, "for Vice-President", with John R. Edmunds, Halifax, and Allen T. Caperton, Monroe "for the state at large", with sixteen candidates "For the Districts", and Roger A. Pryor "For Congress". The typed names are surrounded by a decorative black border. Inscribed "B. J. Eggleston", in ink, with mathematical notations, in pencil, reverse. 6 1/4" H x 4" W. 2nd item: Carte de Visite depicting a three-quarter bust view of Jefferson Davis in a Confederate uniform. E. Jacobs, 93 Camp Street, New Orleans studio mark with inscription identifying Davis, in blue ink, reverse. 4 1/8" H x 2 1/2" W. 3rd item: Fourteen page later copy of Jefferson Davis's Inaugural Speech delivered at the Capitol, Monday, February 18, 1861. Handwritten in ink on notebook paper. 11" H x 8 1/2" W. Provenance: Private Knoxville, TN collection. CONDITION: 1st item: Overall good condition with light toning. Ink inscription bleeds through to front of page. 2nd item: Scuffs, areas of toning, surface of CDV. 3rd item: Overall good condition with light toning, foxing spots, tears, etc. to be expected from age. Two horizontal creases along width of pages.
