3 Early Tennessee legal imprints, plus Governor William Carroll signed document. 1st item: (Book) – ACTS PASSED AT THE STATED SESSION OF THE 18TH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE, 1829. Allen A. Hall and Frederick S. Heiskell, Printers to the State, printed at the Office of the Republican and Gazette, Nashville. Leather spine with marbled boards. Previous owner inscription: Clerk of the Circuit Court of Marion County, with old label to spine reading A.A. Hyde. 147 pp plus index. 2nd item: Governor William Carroll signed document, AN ACT TO REFORM AND AMEND THE PENAL LAWS OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE, January 1, 1831. Witnessed by Thomas H. Fletcher. 9-5/8" x 7-5/8". 3rd and 4th items: (2 Books) – THE STATUTE LAWS OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE OF A PUBLIC AND GENERAL NATURE, 1831. Revised and Digested by John Haywood and Robert L. Cobbs, By Order of the General Assembly, Vol. I and II (associated). Published by F.S. Heiskell, Knoxville. Previous owner inscriptions: J.M. Thornbough and Robert M. Anderson (Vol. 1), Jacob McGavock (Vol. 2). 458 pages (Vol. 1) and 230 Pages (Vol. 2) plus indexes. Brown leather covers. Note difference in sizes of books and styles of cover. Condition: 1st item: Cover in fair condition with losses at ends of spine, wear and fading to boards, pages foxed and toned. 2nd item: 7" separation to fold, affecting Carroll's signature; 2 large light stains and general toning. 3rd and 4th items: Volume I: Leather cover in fair condition with significant scuffing and wear, some pen marks. Some foxing to interior pages. Volume II (associated): Leather cover in poor condition: worn, brittle, and chipped. Front and back covers detached from spine and have old tape (extends to Title page). Foxing and toning to interior pages.
