Rare Secession era Palmetto badge, probably tin, with twisted wire clasp on back. 2 3/8"H. Note: these were worn in South Carolina prior to the Civil War to support secession and the Confederate States of America, in particular the soldiers of South Carolina. Provenance: Estate of A. Welling LaGrone Jr., Nashville, Tenn. Condition: Heavy oxidation, some possible losses to leaves.
