Bruce Peebles (American/Tennessee, 1963-2016) carved figural wood sculpture titled "Sacred Gathering," depicting three intertwined standing figures with abstracted faces. Signed/inscribed on one leg with title and dated 1/26/90. 70"H x 19"W x 15"D. Note: Peebles was a Nashville based artist known for his sculpture in wood, metal and sound. He drew much of his inspiration from his time in Africa, where he worked alongside sculptors from the Shona tribe. He died of pancreatic cancer in 2016 at the age of 53.
PROVENANCE: The collection of the late Dianne and Harris Gilbert, Nashville, TN.
CONDITION: Excellent condition.
