Scarce Unreleased Otis Redding – Diogenes Lantern Works Denver Dog / Family Dog FDD016 lithograph poster, designed by Bob Fried, signed and numbered 20/35 in lower right margin. Note: Otis Redding was scheduled to perform at the legendary The Family Dog venue in Colorado Dec. 22-23, 1967, but he was killed in a plane crash on Dec. 10. (His death came just three months after "Sittin on the Dock of the Bay" was recorded). Redding's concert dates were not filled, and the poster, which remained in the Denver Dog's inventory, was not printed until some time later, when it was reconstructed as a lithograph in a very limited special run of 35 numbered proofs. 21" x 14 5/8" sight. Framed under plexiglass with double mats in black molded frames, 30" x 24". Provenance: Private Middle Tennessee collection, acquired from Wolfgang's, 2013. A copy of the receipt is available to the winning bidder.
CONDITION: Poster in mint condition; has shifted slightly in frame. Not examined out of frame.
