Civil War era Model 1860 Spencer Repeating Carbine, .56 caliber, serial number 29459. Barrel marked "Spencer Repeating/Rifle Co. Boston Mass/Pat's March 6, 1860". Oiled walnut stocks, metal frame, round barrel, standard sights, sling bar and ring, tubular loading magazine located in the buttstock. Carved initials "P" and "SC" either side of buttstock, possible indication of ownership. Barrel length – 22. Overall length – 39". Serial number corresponds to years 1863-1865. CONDITION: Semi relic condition. Age cracks to dry wood, largest 4 3/4", surface of stocks. Carved initials with other dings and scratches to be expected from age and manner of use. Lacquer application over metal frame, oiled stocks. Half cock is gone. Bore is dirty and pitted.
