1st item: Hand-pieced and hand-quilted cotton quilt rendered in "Ragged Robbin" pattern featuring multicolored fabrics including pinks, plaids, and pictorials. Seperate binding is machine sewn. Backing is composed of four white feed sacks with mill trademarks visible on underside. 76" H x 61" W. Probably Southern, circa 1940-50. 2nd item: Tied crazy quilt with wool yarn and pearl cotton embroidery featuring mixed fabrics including wool challis suiting, velvet, and dress fabrics. Quilt features a center block with fan pattern as well as various painted and embroidered pictorial motifs throughout. Back to front machine bound with purple robe print floral backing. 79" H x 69" W. American, circa 1910-1920.
PROVENANCE: The Estate of Peggy Lambert, Maryville, Tennessee.
CONDITION: 1st item: Overall good condition with only slight discoloration and fading on the top. Backing has a large stain and an area where pink dye migrated from the top layer. 2nd item: Some use wear with a few small holes to lower edge and scattered holes throughout.
