Henri-Joseph Antonissen (Flemish, 1737-1794) watercolor, pencil and wash on paper depicting a pastoral landscape. 2 male figures in the lower left foreground lead cattle and goats along a road beside a river, while a woman walks beside them carrying a basket on her head; a cottage with smoke billowing from the chimney is seen in the middle ground along with two figures fishing in a boat. Overlooking the landscape is a ruined tower perched atop a cliff. Signed lower left H.J. Antonissen. Sight: 14" x 20 1/2", 24" x 31" matted and framed in a giltwood frame with beaded rabbet edge.
