Five (5) Chinese Snuff Bottles, including Lapis and Porcelain. 1st item: Enameled porcelain snuff bottle, relief decorated and painted with insects amid lotus blossoms and leaves, gilded neck; green jade or glass lid with metal collar and spoon. Qianlong mark to underside. 3 1/4" H. 2nd item: Hand painted porcelain snuff bottle depicting two boys in a landscape, carrying a ball of fire. Poem inscription en verso. Qianlong mark to underside. Gilt porcelain stopper. 2 1/4" H. 3rd item: Hand painted Famille Rose porcelain snuff bottle with apocryphal Cheng Te mark to underside and gilt porcelain stopper. 3 1/4" H. 4th item: Lapis lazuli snuff bottle, shouldered, flattened ovoid form with carved bird and prunus branch design to one side and lapis stopper. 2 1/3" H. 5th item: Amber colored resinous snuff bottle with carp and seaweed design to one side and bird and dragonfly design to opposite side. 2 3/4" H. All likely late 19th to mid 20th century. Provenance: Huntsville, Alabama private collection. CONDITION: All spoons appear to have been broken off and reattached or replaced, otherwise all items very good condition.
