1st item: Kentucky percussion long rifle with maple full stock, .44 caliber (approximately), octagonal barrel, lockplate with foliate design, unmarked, brass fittings, double set triggers with brass trigger guard with spur, brass forend cap. End of barrel with dot pattern design around the perimeter of the bore. Maple stock enhanced with burnt lines to simulate tiger maple. 2nd half 19th century. Barrel length – 38 9/16". Overall length – 57 1/2". 2nd item: Kentucky country store advertising wooden firkin or bucket with swing handle, painted brown, paint decoration advertising W.D. DALTON LUDLOW KY SHOPS. 9" H x 8 3/8" top diameter. Third quarter 19th century. CONDITION: 1st item: Rifle with older patina. Brass trigger guard loose. Triggers and hammer nonworking at present. One-half inch diagonal shallow chip to stock at toe plate. 2nd item: Missing lid. 6" x 5/8" loss to one finger strap. 3/4" x 1/2" loss at rim. Losses to handle pins.
