Framed Ottoman Turkish silk and metallic Suzani style embroidered square velvet cover with crochet border, the center with Sultan's Tugra monogram flanked by Islamic calligraphy and foliate cartouche decoration and the corners with cresent and star decoration. Float mounted in a maple frame. Embroidery: 20" square. Framed: 24 1/2" H x 25 1/2" W. Late 19th/Early 20th century.
PROVENANCE: Estate of Judge John Nixon, Nashville, Tennessee.
CONDITION: Textile in overall very good condition with some scattered losses to crochet border. Not examined out of the frame.
