Oil on canvas half length portrait with brass label titled, "Lady Campbell-Reign of King George III", unsigned. Subject is dressed in white with head scarf and brown sash, with a red drape in the background. Giltwood and composition molded frame. 24-1/2" H x 20-3/4" W canvas, 34-1/2" H x 30-1/2" W framed. English, 1st quarter 19th century. Provenance: estate of Judge W. Dale Young, Maryville, Tenn. Condition: Some cracquelure on face and neck. Blacklighting reveals scattered evidence of restoration in bodice, above right collar and along lower left edge of canvas. Chip to rondel in center frame.
