Henry Gasser (New Jersey, 1909-1981) watercolor on paper maritime painting of a shipyard with wood fragments in the foreground and docked boats in the background. Signed "H. Gasser" lower right. Housed in a custom painted wood frame with a linen mat under plexiglass. Sight:14 1/2" H x 20 1/2" W. Framed: 26 1/4" H x 32 1/4" W. Artist biography: Henry Gasser was born in Newark, NJ. in 1909 and is known for painting everyday subjects he found where he lived including street scenes, parks, old homes, harbors, and villages, working in both oil and watercolor. He studied at the Newark School of Fine and Industrial Art, the Grand Central School of Art, and the Students League of New York, and his art has been exhibited in over fifty museum collections and numerous private collections.
