1st item: Civil War sixth plate tintype of Sergeant Robert Henry who served with 15th Independent Battery, Ohio Light Artillery and 15th Volunteer Battery, Ohio Artillery. Tintype image depicts Henry in his uniform, seated and holding an artillery sword with an unusual S guard. Hand tinting of buttons, Kepi ensignia, buckle, sword grip, and guard, housed in a tooled leather case. 2nd & 3rd items: Two discharge documents, one dated January 3, 1864 documenting his discharge from 15th Battery OV Artillery as a Private (he volunteered December 11, 1861) and the other dated June 20, 1865 from the 15th Independent Battery, Ohio Light Artillery where he rose to the rank of Sergeant. 4th item: Hand written letter by Capt. Edward Spear, Jr. of the 15th Independent Battery, Ohio Light Artillery certifying that Robert Henry of Olmstead, Ohio is reenlisting as a "Veteran Volunteer" in his battery "from the 4th day of January 1864". Letter is dated "Feby 1st, 1864". 5th item: Certified 1923 typed copy of Robert Henry's Soldier's Discharge Record. Condition: 1st item: Light abrasions to center and left margin of ambrotype. One half of case missing, light wear to remaining half. 2nd – 5th items: Fold lines to all documents with toning and normal wear/ losses to edges.
