Henry Gasser (New Jersey, 1909-1981) watercolor on paper painting titled "Oil Well Outskirts" depicting a row of homes along a street with figures, and a group of oil well towers in the background under a grey sky. Signed "H. Gasser, Oklahoma" lower right. Housed in a custom wood frame with a mat under plexiglass. Sight: 14 1/2" H x 21" W. Framed: 27" H x 33 1/2" W. Artist biography: Henry Gasser was born in Newark, NJ. in 1909 and is known for painting everyday subjects he found where he lived and traveled including street scenes, parks, old homes, harbors, and villages, working in both oil and watercolor. He studied at the Newark School of Fine and Industrial Art, the Grand Central School of Art, and the Students League of New York, and his art has been exhibited in over fifty museum collections and numerous private collections.
