Confederate Civil War ambrotype, 1/6th plate, depicting a Confederate officer attired in his uniform and wearing a Hardee hat bearing an infantry insignia "AV" for Virginia. The officer is holding his sword in a vertical position, his buckle appears to be a Virginia sheet brass. Embossed case measures 3 3/4" H x 3 1/4" W. Condition: Wear and losses to case. Some darkening to glass around image.
