Near pair of two (2) Kashan/Keshan Persian pictorial rugs or carpets, both wool on cotton. Both with central medallion decoration depicting a palace or large villa, flanked by tall, flowering trees with birds centered around a flowering vase. Birds with flowering vines are in the upper corners and all on a red ground. All within seven borders, the largest with various vignette decoration depicting buildings, mountains, birds and deer. One measuring 85" H x 52" W, the other measuring 86" H x 54" W. Both circa mid-20th century.
PROVENANCE: The Tina McWhorter Trust; from the collection of John and Tina McWhorter, Memphis, Tennessee.
CONDITION: Both in overall very good condition, one being slightly more faded. Minor age-related use and wear.
