Harry Davis Fluhart Williams (Indiana, Illinois, Florida, 1861-1938) oil on canvas American landscape scene depicting a country path with fence row in the foreground and mountain ridge in background. Signed "Fluhart" lower left. Housed in a contemporary gilt wood frame with linen liner. Sight – 25" H x 18 3/4" W. Framed – 31" H x 24 3/4" W. Biography: Harry Fluhart was a professional artist and educator for most of his adult life. He studied in Munich under Richard Ritter von Poschinger, and at Delecluse School (Academie Delecluse), Paris. He was a member of the artists' colony in the forest of Fontainebleau, France, and a member of Society of American Artists of Paris. In the United States, he taught at Earlham College, Knox College, and John B. Stetson University. Source: The Bulletin of John B. Stetson University (1931-1932).
